Calm zone

A screen to put on the board when the room needs to come down. Pick a scene, add a quiet timer or a breathing guide, write on it if you need to. Turn on the bouncy balls and they jump when the class gets loud, and settle when it is quiet.

How to use it

  1. Pick a scene and press Full screen. The controls hide until you move the mouse to the bottom of the screen.
  2. Bouncy balls asks for the microphone (the sound is never recorded or sent anywhere; it is measured in the browser and thrown away). Balls sit still when the room is quiet and bounce when it is loud. The orange line on the meter is the level that sets them off; move Sensitivity to suit your room.
  3. Timer counts down in the corner and ends with a soft tone. Breathing shows a circle that grows for four seconds and shrinks for four; good for the first minute after lunch.
  4. Draw lets you write on the scene, for a question to think about or the next instruction.

Keys: F full screen, T start or stop the timer, B breathing, D draw, space show the controls. The rain is generated in the browser, not a recording.
