Dingbats

Say what you see. A word or phrase hidden in the way the letters are arranged. One at a time on the board with a reveal, or a printed sheet of twelve with the answers on the back.

How to use it

  1. On the board: press Next, let the class shout, press Reveal. Space bar reveals, then moves on. Shuffle for a new order.
  2. Printable sheet: twelve puzzles on a page, answers on the next page. Shuffle for a different twelve. Set the printer to "print backgrounds" if the black box looks empty.
  3. The maths set works for Pi Day and the last lesson before Christmas. Pupils designing their own is a good ten-minute extension: they get a blank box and swap with a partner.
