The induction evidence folder, without the folder. Log a piece of evidence in thirty seconds when it happens, tag the standards it shows, and see at a glance which standards are thin before your mentor does. Export the lot for a progress review.
This is stored in this browser on this computer only. Nothing is uploaded, which also means nobody backs it up for you: use Export and backup once a term, or before you change laptops.
You do not need a lever-arch file of everything. You need a few clear pieces per standard that show progress over the year. Something you already have almost always counts:
TS1 High expectations. Seating plan with reasons, a routine you introduced and the effect, a photo of the board with the lesson's expectations, a pupil who improved after you raised the bar.
TS2 Progress and outcomes. Two pieces of the same pupil's work a term apart, a class data snapshot with your note on it, a re-teach you did after a low assessment.
TS3 Subject and curriculum. A lesson where you fixed a misconception, a subject CPD session, a scheme of work you adapted, the reading you did before a new topic.
TS4 Planning and teaching. A plan with the annotations you made afterwards, a homework task and what it showed, a sequence of three lessons that build.
TS5 Adapting. The SEN support plan you acted on, a scaffold you made, how you stretched the top, what you changed for an EAL pupil.
TS6 Assessment. Marked work with feedback pupils acted on, a question-level analysis, a quiz you wrote and the follow-up, verbal feedback you noted.
TS7 Behaviour. A behaviour log entry and what you did next, a conversation with a pupil that changed things, praise you gave and why, a hard class that settled.
TS8 Wider responsibilities. A parents' evening, a phone call home, a trip, a club, a meeting where you contributed, a colleague you helped.
Personal and professional conduct is the second part of the standards. Punctuality, safeguarding training, following policy: you rarely need to evidence it unless asked, but log the safeguarding training date.
The eight standards are the DfE Teachers' Standards used in England. Scotland (GTCS Standard for Full Registration), Wales (Professional Standards) and Northern Ireland (GTCNI competences) are structured differently; the log still works, just relabel the tags in your head or write the competence number in the note.
